There's still a little over 9 days left to play in this month's challenge, so share your NEW creations with us! Check out the inspiration cards we made and then link up your mixed media cards here!
I used various Distress Ink colours (wiped to the background) and then doodled (with a water tank brush pen and plain water) a firework image onto the background. When it was dry, I applied some glitter glue here and there for additonal detail. Then some white circles using a white pen and a doodled the frame with a black pen.
Have you played in this month's challenge? We've got a couple of mixed media cards below to inspire. Check them out and then link up your mixed media cards here!
I embossed and sponged the woodgrain background, punched the bottom edge, embossed the sentiment and die cut balloon dog, made a tissue paper banner using a fringe die, and added enamel dots.
I first stamped the circle (Dina Wakley stamp) onto the background and embossed with gold embossing powder (by Lindy´s Stamp Gang). I then used various Distress Ink colours to create the background and then added some water splatters here and there. I really like the effect it creates. After that I stamped the bird (by Viva Las VegaStamps) with black dye ink and colored it with markers. In the end the feathers got a little glitter glue treatment.
Happy new year, everyone! With the new year comes a brand new challenge here at The Mixed Media Card Challenge. This month, our theme is "NEW". Lots of ways to interpret that theme -- you could use new supplies, have the word "new" in your card, use a technique that is new to you, or however else you'd interpret the theme. "Tissue" is an optional element.
HOW TO PLAY
1. Create a mixed media CARD based on the theme, with or without the optional element.
2. Display the challenge graphic on your blog post and link back to this challenge post.
3. You may enter as many times as you want, as long as each entry is different.
4. You may combine a maximum of 7 challenges (6 other challenges plus ours).
5. Submit your projects by January 25, 11:55 p.m. PST (GMT -800).
6. We'll announce the winner and highlights on January 31.
