July is a milestone month for The Mixed Media Card Challenge -- we enter into our second year! Can you say "Yay!" We have 7 new awesome design team members joining us beginning this month, which means even more beautiful mixed media cards to inspire!
This month, our theme is "BLUE". Show us your blue mixed media card -- your cards can be all blue (monochromatic) or with a hint of blue. As long as there's blue in your mixed media cards, link 'em up! "Vase" is an optional element.
HOW TO PLAY
1. Create a mixed media CARD based on the theme, with or without the optional element.
2. Display the challenge graphic on your blog post and link back to this challenge post.
3. You may enter as many times as you want, as long as each entry is different.
4. You may combine a maximum of 7 challenges (6 other challenges plus ours).
5. Submit your projects by July 25, 11:55 p.m. Pacific (GMT-7).
6. We'll announce the winner and highlights on July 31.

So how did the design team interpret the theme? Take a look at the cards below. We hope they inspire you to play along with us! We look forward to seeing your beautiful cards!
My card was inspired by the flowers and the blues of this month's challenge image, along with the optional element:vase. I had fun making this card with a free digital stamp from Stamplorations.
I made this card from UHK Gallery scrapbook paper, with gesoo and Izink. I decorated it with blue and white flowers, and pearls.
A spray ink colored watercolor paper with various blue spray ink tones. Then stamped with blue ink and a hand carved background stamp. After that added embossing paste thru a stencil and poured Distress Glitter over the areas. Cut a circle, added a yarn around it, a paper flower and a brad. White pearl arrows colored with a blue alcohol marker, stamped hand carved stamp sentiment and a blue marker faux stitched outline.
Distress ink and stencil background. Hand cute chipboard vase with modeling paste, gesso, distress ink, acrylic paint and heavy gel medium. Stamped image layered with paper flowers.
Distress Paint background; acrylic paints, stencils, Distress Inks and burlap on vase.
Splatter Plaster technique on background using inks, rubbing alcohol and Picket Fence Spray Stain; stenciling, stamping and embossing on the little vase.
Watercolor paper with Paste through Stencil and Inks. Butterfly with a die.
Gesso on watercolor paper, Gelatos, glass bead gel through Retro Circles. Wired flower, wood veneer, antique cloche
Stenciling, Heat Embossing, Dry Embossing on Foil, Watercolor, Washi Tape, Stamping
Background made with Distress Ink, gesso, and gelato splatters. Frame painted with Perfect Pearls. Flowers colored with gelatos and alcohol markers. Vase made with vellum and frosted rock glitter.
Background Dylusions Paints, Art C colored modeling paste. The image was created using a stamp by Paper Smooches and I masked it.
Texture paste, decoupage roses, paints and mists, lace, glass glitter, chipboard
Inked background, with stencilled and stamped patterns. Stamped and fussy cut flowers, decorated with sewing yarn and seed beads. Die-cut leaves and sentiment text.
